Meet Homestead Handles
About The Company
Handmade by us
Having been around since 1995, we are proud to be your USA leather handle supplier.
Our family business supports the fiber and weaving industry by attending and being active members at many guilds. We travel the country throughout the year to attend fiber shows and conventions from Colorado to New York.
We invite you to browse through our inventory and contact us with any questions.
Since we cut our straps in house, the possibilities are endless. The listings you see here are our standard and most popular handles, if you need an item custom created please contact us!
It's more than a team, it's family
Two generations and counting
Pat's love for basket weaving began in 1999 after attending her first basket workshop. In 2001 she opened her shop Bittersweet Baskets where she taught and sold basket supplies. Then in 2013 she and her husband purchased Homestead Heirlooms a leather handle making business out of Wisconsin.
Madelyn's background is in Finance. In 2019 she left her big city job in Los Angeles to hike the Pacific Crest Trail with the intention of taking over the family leather business after. She is an avid knitter, sewist and enjoys leather craft, watercolor and of course backpacking.
